Congratulations to Physics Professor Minhyea Lee for receiving a Department of Energy Early Career Research Award. The announcement was delivered by the DOE on Friday, May 6.

According to the DOE's web site, these five-year awards are designed to bolster the nation's scientific workforce by providing support to exceptional researchers during the crucial early career years, when many scientists do their most formative work.

"I am so thrilled!" Dr. Lee said. "With this award, I will have more opportunities to explore exciting physics, which is so much fun for me."

Lee joined the Physics Department faculty in January, 2010. This five-year, $766K award will support her research program on transport studies of quantum magnetism.
