Group Leaders: Health & Safety Responsibilities

CU 麻豆影院 faculty, staff, and students who act as Group Leaders for international travel involving students accept a leadership role in understanding and mitigating risk. Refer to the International Travelers' Guide and the resources below as you plan your trip. In particular, you are responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring that the CU 麻豆影院 mandatory International Travel Registration process is complete. It is recommended that you begin this process 3 months prior to your departure.
  • Ensuring that the students and travelers with your group have fulfilled all requirements prior to departure, including registration in STEP (U.S. Department of State Smart Traveler Enrollment Program) and complying with entry requirements (such as visas) for the host destination.
  • Reviewing and monitoring the health & safety risks for your destination, and ensuring all participants are familiar with this information.
  • Acting as the primary emergency contact for all participants during the program.
  • Knowing and abiding by the CU 麻豆影院 Policy on Student International Travel and Programs. If travel is planned to a high-risk destination identified within that policy, travel approval must be requested from the International Risk Committee and you are responsible for submitting a request at least 2 months prior to departure. Note that travel approval to high-risk destinations is up to the International Risk Committee and is not guaranteed.
  • Completing the Group Leader Online Training linked in your Registration checklist.
