Students presenting at the Capstone Symposium

Join us for our annual Capstone Symposium! This year’s symposium features Capstone projects from 28 student teams working to advance sustainability with Capstone partner organizations from Colorado and beyond. Students have been working hard to deliver new insights to their Capstone Partners over the last 10 months and we are excited to invite you to celebrate their success with us!

We will be hosting six sessions throughout the event, beginning every half hour. During each session, student teams will present concurrently throughout the SEEC building. Each presentation will occur in-person and will be streamed via Zoom (links for live stream will be shared before the event to those who register).

This event is open to the public!

You can read more about this year's themes below.

Infrastructure in the Energy Sector

As our society moves towards electrified, decarbonized systems, the need for infrastructure expansion is paramount. Student teams will present on their work in battery storage, agrivoltaics, EV infrastructures, and other topics.

Embracing Outdoor Recreation

Stewardship of our outdoor spaces is key to rural and urban areas alike – and the outdoor recreation industry plays a key role in building sustainability and resilience. Our students’ work spans from work with the outdoor recreation industry on the sustainability of their products to development of pocket parks in Colorado.

Sustainable and Community-Centered Development

Promoting sustainability and resilience in communities requires stakeholder-engagement and community-centered approaches. Our students will discuss their work on urban design and urban infrastructure.

Climate Action at Scale

Climate change poses a threat to our communities - and therefore requires immediate action towards collective change. The student projects include climate planning, supporting local governments in circular procurement, understanding the impacts of climate change on Colorado workforce and others.

Resilient Food Systems

Sustainability in our food supply chain engages everyone from farms to table. Our students work across the food system – their projects include agroecological design, support for food justice, healthy school lunch workforce development, and other projects.
