While Syd loves Mechanical Engineering, it is far from his only interest. Syd currently works in the THING听Lab in the ATLAS Institute听and has been part of Engineers without Borders Rwanda, Biomedical Engineering听Society and CU Emergency Medical Services. Syd is passionate about ecological preservation and听wilderness areas. Last summer, Syd worked as a snorkel and kayak guide in Virgin Islands National Park听and will be working this summer as a canoe and backpacking guide in the Boundary Waters Canoe听Wilderness Area. When he graduates, Syd hopes to apply his engineering knowledge to the medical听field, either working as a biomedical engineer or pursuing a higher degree in medicine.听
