Parking/Entry Ramps

State-issued disability parking placards are required for access to the handicap-accessible parking spaces. Handicap-accessible parking spaces are available in front of the building.

There are two wheelchair accessible ramps into Macky Auditorium. The first and most commonly used ramp is located at the front of the building on the west side of the main entrance. Wheelchair users and patrons requiring limited walking distance may be dropped off at the front entrance ramp. The second ramp is usually reserved for performers and event staff and is located on the north east side of the building at the stage loading dock (arrangements at least 3 business days in advance must be made in order to obtain access from this ramp). For most events there will be parking attendants on duty to assist with directions. Please call Macky Auditorium at 303-492-8423 for more information. You may also view parking and accessible routes on the campus map.

Hearing Assistance

Macky Auditorium offers the Phonic Ear® hearing assistance system for our patrons. Portable Phonic Ear® receivers can be used with or without a hearing aid. Please inquire with one of our ushers or patron service managers to checkout a unit. A driver’s license or other photo ID is required.

Service Animals

Macky welcomes patrons and their service animals to attend events. Service animals must remain under control of their handler and not cause a disruption to the event. Macky staff may need to relocate a patron's seats if the service animal impacts fire code regulations or cannot reasonably fit within the space provided by the patron's seat. We will make all reasonable efforts to ensure the seat is similar to the one you purchased. Please note that, per University policy, pets and emotional support or comfort animals are not allowed in Macky Auditorium.

American Sign Language and Captioning

ASL and captioning can be made available to patrons with hearing impairments upon request. To ensure we can arrange for and effectively implement services, Macky requires a minimum of 7 day advanced notice prior to the event, which can be sent to macky@colorado.edu. We will make all reasonable efforts to secure requests submitted after this deadline, but cannot guarantee we will be able to do so.

Booster Seats

A limited number of booster seats are available on a first come first served basis. Please ask one of our ushers or patron service managers for assistance.
