Admissions Requirements:Ìý​

  1. Baccalaureate degree or its equivalent in computer science, linguistics, math or science from an accredited college or university
  2. Undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0
  3. Mathematics courses:
    • Calculus I and II (1 semester required, two semesters recommended; AP credit on your university transcript is fine)
    • Statistics & Probability, upper division
  4. Computer science courses:Ìý
    • Intro to Computer Science
    • Data Structures
    • Algorithms (recommended)
    • Intro to Programming Languages (familiarity with two programming languages recommended; this can be fulfilled with work experience)
  5. Linguistics courses:Ìý
    • Intro to Linguistics (with focus on language structures)Ìý
    • Additional course (morphology/syntax, semantics, formal semantics) recommended
  6. 3 letters of recommendation
  7. Personal statement of purpose and Diversity statement
  8. GRE scores (required for all applicants)
  9. TOEFL score of 83 (IBT) or higher, an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher, or a Duolingo score of 120Ìýor higher for international applicants whose post-secondary education was not in English
