The Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program at Colorado Law is a partnership that allows us to makeÌýethics a central part of every law student's education.
In December 2014, Colorado Law became the first law school selected to participate in theÌý, a consortium of 12Ìýbusiness and law schools that promotes principle-based ethics education and buildsÌýa foundation for personal and organizational ethical decision-making and leadership. The law school’s inclusion in the Collegiate ProgramÌýallows us to develop a range of curricular innovations and extracurricular programming that go beyond traditional legal ethics and professionalism education and extend to the development of students’ professional identities and skills.Ìý The impact of our programs is broad:Ìý In the 2019-2020 academic year alone, we reached over 430 students, 60 faculty, and 270 business leaders.
"Collaborating with the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative to prioritize principle-based ethics education is an honor. Not only will this partnership enrich students’ experience during their time at CU Â鶹ӰԺ, it will also allow them to enter industry equipped with a strong ethical foundation once it comes time for them to impact the world beyond CU.ÌýÌýWe know the importance of developing legal professionals who prioritize ethical decision-making. Ethical lawyers have widespread impact—not only within law firms, but also within the businesses, government entities, non-profit organizations, and individuals they advise and represent. At Colorado Law, we have experienced the powerful impact of focusing on principle-based ethics with our students, graduates, and the profession as a whole in a way that is truly unique amongst law schools and traditional legal ethics instruction. We are excited to build on the success we have experienced over the last five years and are thankful for the opportunity to continue this critical work."ÌýÌý-CU Â鶹ӰԺ Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano
