An update on the fledging members of the lab!

The Taylor Lab is in an exciting period of flux with many folks completing their degrees and positions and heading in new directions (they're fledging, if you will...!). Here is a quick update of recent events for some Taylor Lab members!

Dr. Kathryn Grabenstein: Defended her PhD on March 29th and will be doing a short term postdoc with the lab! Congrats Kathryn!

Dr. Erik Funk: Defended his PhD on March 17th and was awarded an NSF PRFB to do a postdoc with the Conservation Genomics group at the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance. Congrats Erik!

Katherine Feldman: In Autumn 2022, Katherine will embark on her next academic adventure as a PhD student in the Molecular and Cellular Biology program at the University of Washington in Seattle. As an interdisciplinary program, and with access to numerous research institutes in the Seattle area, Katherine is excited about the opportunities to explore and collaborate with faculty from various scientific fields. During her first year, Katherine will rotate with three laboratory groups, and she is currently interested in using computational methods to advance protein design or developing bioinformatic technologies to study viral evolution. Congrats Katherine!

Dr. Tyler Chafin: Tyler and his family are moving to Scotland where he will start a position as a Senior Research Scientist with The James Hutton Institute. Congrats Tyler!

Cori Carver: Cori sucessfully defended her undergraduate honors thesis and will soon be starting a new job in Atlanta! Congrats Cori!

Will Anderson: Will sucessfully defended his undergraduate honors thesis and will officially be an MA candidate next month! Congrats Will!
