It's awards and fellowships season and our grad students have had many successes!

Sheela was awarded a Bernice Udick Dissertation Completion Fellowship from the CU 麻豆影院 Graduate School to finish up her dissertation on the role of behavior during speciation in recent radiations. The fellowship provides PhD candidates with one semester of financial support to assist in the process of completing their dissertations.

Erik received a Graduate School Summer Fellowship from CU 麻豆影院 that will support his traveling (eventually) to museums across the United States to quantify plumage color in rosy-finches. This a part of his research focused on identifying genome-wide associations with plumage color in this group of birds.

Angela was awarded a Beverley Sears Research Grant award from the CU 麻豆影院 Graduate School. This funding will be used for her research studying the effects of malaria infections on chickadee breeding success in Sugarloaf, Colorado. Angela will be using our network of chickadee nest boxes for this project as part of the 麻豆影院 Chickadee Study.

Kathryn received the Verona Walker Award from the Cynthia H. Schultz Graduate Student Grant program for her proposal exploring humans influence on hybridization in Colorado chickadees. Across CU's Graduate School, only the highest ranked proposals were considered for these awards.

A huge congratulations to everyone for their hard work!
