Pedro recently completed his PhD in Philosophy at the University of North Texas (July 2024) and has a BS in Physics from the University of Texas at Dallas. 

Pedro’s research is situated in the intersection of Metaphysics, Continental Philosophy, Latin American Philosophy, and Philosophy of Physical science. For his doctoral dissertation, Pedro developed a genealogical study of the concept of energy in western philosophy and science, focusing on how energy has been theorized historically in relation to time. Among the main influences on this genealogical study were the ideas of Friedrich Nietzsche, Henri Bergson, and Gilles Deleuze. His research explores forms of temporality beyond the traditional linear time of western science and metaphysics, towards a non-representational conception of the past. 

He has recently published papers in Research in Phenomenology and °Õ³ó²¹³Ü³¾Ã ³ú±ð¾±²Ô-Rivista di Filosofia, which published a special issue on "Henri Bergson. Creative Evolution and Philosophy of Life." You can find his published works . 

Pedro particularly enjoys thinking with his students about the tensions between morality and science. Having taught courses such as Ethics in Science and Ethical Theory, he enjoys teaching about the ethical and existential ramifications of modern science for the individual and society. He is endlessly fascinated by how the ways in which we interpret the natural world affect our understanding of the nature of morality, as well as our relationship to others and the environment.
