Hello, and welcome to the Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) website. It is my great honor to serve the Â鶹ӰԺ as the Vice Provost and Associate Vice Chancellor for Faculty Affairs. I have been a faculty member here for 15 years, in the School of Education. My disciplinary grounding is in philosophy and I study college access and equity, and ethics and politics in education.
Born and raised in New York in a multicultural, immigrant family, my background as a first-generation Latina informs my research, my teaching, and my work as vice provost. In this role, I aim to represent faculty interests across campus, support faculty individually and collectively, and foster a diverse and inclusive faculty community.
Faculty are the heart of the university. The staff members and faculty members in our office work hard to help faculty from the moment they are recruited to CU Â鶹ӰԺ to the day they retire and beyond. Faculty Affairs’ programs, processes, and initiatives include faculty hiring and other personnel actions; professional and career development, leadership development, and mentoring initiatives to support tenured and tenure track faculty and instructor track faculty; new faculty and academic leader orientations; faculty diversity and equity; faculty awards and achievement; data collection on faculty research, creative work, teaching, and outreach; and fostering recognition of faculty internally, nationally, and internationally for their art, research, scholarship, teaching, leadership, and public outreach.
The OFA website is designed to serve as a source for news, events, updates and information related to faculty concerns, education, and good works, as well as campus policies, all in one helpful, convenient location. I hope that you find the site useful and informative.
