Dr. Bottenus received his Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University in 2017, as well as a B.S.E. in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering from Duke University in 2011. He enjoys playing board games, running, playing basketball, and spending time with his family.

Somaye received her Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2024. She also obtained her B.S. in Physics and M.S. in Medical Radiation Engineering in Iran. Somaye enjoys painting, photography, hiking, and listening to horror and science-fiction audiobooks in her free time.
