CU �鶹ӰԺ Provost Russell Moore has named the members of the advisory committee to conduct a national search for a new dean for the College of Engineering and Applied Science. The search committee will begin meeting immediately, and Moore plans to name a new dean during the spring 2022 semester.

The nomination window for the is now open! These awards are considered the highest honors granted by the College of Engineering and Applied Science, and faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to consider nominating any alumni that they find deserving. Nominations are due Nov. 15.

Finalists will deliver pitches to a panel of business leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and intellectual property experts. Winners receive $125,000 funding for proof of concept, as well as market analysis or business expenses. These virtual showcases are the can’t-miss event of the year to see CU �鶹ӰԺ’s next wave of breakthrough innovations.

Join the Research & Innovation Office at noon on Nov. 10 via Zoom for a discussion about their upcoming seed grant program. Designed to catalyze new areas of research, scholarship and creative work, the program awards nearly $1 million annually to faculty across all disciplines. The event will include a panel of previous recipients, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Tobin Craig of Michigan State University will present on “Towards the Limits of the Possible: The Philosophic Ambition of a Technological Science” as part of a lecture series, co-sponsored by the Engineering Leadership Program, that examines how America’s zealous promotion of science, technology, and scientific education affects American democracy. The virtual presentation will begin at noon on Friday, Nov. 5.
