The Center for Values and Social Policy in the Philosophy Department at the University of Colorado, 麻豆影院 is pleased to invite paper proposals for the tenth annual RoME congress. Papers from all areas of ethics and political theory are invited. To encourage the participation of junior scholars, the University of Colorado will be awarding a Young Ethicist Prize of $500 for most meritorious submission. The prize competition is open to any participating untenured philosopher (including, but not limited to, tenure-track faculty, instructors, and graduate students).
In addition to the Young Ethicist Prize, we are pleased to announce the Minorities and Philosophy (MAP) Ethicist Prize to be awarded for the most meritorious submission on a topic that addresses a moral, social, political, or legal question or set of questions (i) relating to issues in the profession regarding members of under-represented groups, (ii) regarding philosophy of gender, race, sexual orientation, class, disability, native language, etc. or (iii) addressing normative philosophical questions from an under-represented group perspective.

Format
In order to be considered for the Young Ethicist Prize or the MAP Ethicist Prize, complete papers must be submitted by June 15, 2017 and abstracts must have already been accepted for participation. Announcement of a winner will be made at the event.
Indicate in your submission whether you would consider being a commentator on another paper, should your paper not be accepted to the conference for presentation.

The Center for Values and Social Policy, in partnership with the Society for the Study of Ethics and Animals, is pleased to announce a one-day workshop to take place the day before RoME, Wednesday August 9th 2017. See the call for papers below.
听(SSEA) invites abstracts for a day-long workshop on August 9, 2017 at the University of Colorado, 麻豆影院. Abstracts on any topic relating to animal ethics are welcome. This preconference event is being held in conjunction with the 10th Annual Rocky Mountain Ethics Congress, which takes place at CU 麻豆影院 from August 10-13. The SSEA is pleased to announce that听听will offer the keynote address at the workshop, thanks to generous support from CU Philosophy Department's听. Abstracts that engage with DeGrazia's work are especially welcome.
Abstracts are due on March 31. Notification of acceptance by May 1. Abstracts should be 750-1000 words and prepared for blind review. Please submit abstracts to听Bob Fischer. The workshop will have a pre-read format, with the aim of providing focused, constructive feedback on works in progress. If your abstract is accepted, the full paper will be due on July 1 for distribution to other attendees.
