A Tri-Executive Aide assists the one of the tri- executive鈥檚 to execute projects, tasks and initiatives. Aides are expected to attend meetings upon the request of the executives, schedule meetings, and events on behalf of the executives and attend all CU Student Government affiliated events.
- To ensure an open, fair, and efficient CU Student Government election b. Advertise and solicit qualified candidates for CU Student Government office.
- Promote the CU Student Government Fall and Spring elections to ensure the largest voter turnout reasonably possible
- Reserve rooms for candidate meetings, debates, town halls, etc. e. Work with the CU Student Government Office Manager to verify petition signatures
- Encourage students to research candidates, initiatives, and amendments to be considered and to think critically about the implications of their vote g. Present updates to legislative council upon request
- Attend campus events representing CU Student Government
- Attend all meetings including but not limited to:
- Department meetings
- Staff meetings
The CU Student Government Legislative Council is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legislative Aide to support the activities of the Legislative Council. The Legislative Aide will work directly with the Legislative Council President to ensure the smooth operation of council functions, including the preparation of agendas, organization of events, drafting of legislation, and maintenance of scheduling and calendar activities. This role is an excellent opportunity for students interested in gaining experience in student governance, legislative processes, and event planning.
The Director of Student Engagement manages the Department of Student Engagement and specifically manages and facilitates the creation of outreach events that teach students about Student Government, and foster student input in all Student Government initiatives and programs. The director also acts as a liaison between Student Organizations and Student Government in order to facilitate collaboration on projects and initiatives. Additionally, the Director works closely with the Center for Student Involvement to make the funding process, event planning, and outreach process easier for student organizations. In addition, the director is required to maintain weekly office hours
The sustainability chair is expected to act as CU Student Government鈥檚 liaison to the Environmental Center and student organizations specializing in environmental efforts. The Environmental Center is a catalyst for change and has led student efforts to increase sustainability at the 麻豆影院 for over 50 years. The Sustainability Chair attends weekly Environmental Board meetings. By doing so, this position will be expected to stay up-to-date on current initiatives regarding sustainability as well as identifying ways that CUSG can support them. Furthermore, the Sustainability Chair is expected to work with the Executives and Environmental Center to maintain, ensure compliance with, update, and pass Legislative Council Environmental Legislation. Finally, the Chair must attend all meetings including but not limited to: Staff Meetings, Department of Student Engagement Meetings, Environmental Board Meetings, Zero Waste Board of Director Meetings, Zero Waste Operations Partnership Meetings, and Transportation Working Group Meetings
Director of Strategic Communications manages the Strategic Communications Department as well as managing and elevating CU Student Government鈥檚 brand and reputation. The Director also manages and coordinates the creation of all CU Student Government鈥檚 marketing campaigns and the advertisement of all CU Student Government events and Programs. Additionally, this position acts as CU Student Government鈥檚 Press Secretary, creating and facilitating the production of all CU Student Government press releases for Executive approval, developing strong relationships with media representatives and managing media relations in order to maximize media opportunities.
The Deputy Chief鈥檚 main responsibility is to be the second in command to the Chief of Staff and to aid in any necessary tasks distributed by the CoS. Tasks include but are not limited to: supervising staff execution of specific responsibilities and duties, serving as proxy for CoS, overseeing continuity processes for each department to ensure smooth transitions between administrations, and assisting in the organization of bi-weekly timesheets. The Deputy Chief of Staff is integral to the function of the executive cabinet. In addition to the aforementioned responsibilities, the Deputy CoS may also be expected to set agendas for meetings on behalf of the CoS or the Executives, lead weekly cabinet meetings, and be prepared to provide support to the tri-executives in various capacities.
Director of Diversity and Inclusion manages the entire department of Diversity and Inclusion, including chair positions and commissions. The Director of Diversity and Inclusion works directly with student organizations to advocate for underrepresented students on the administrative level by bringing the concerns of underrepresented students to the Division of Student Affairs and campus leadership.
The Director of Diversity Inclusion will be responsible for collaborating with student leaders and administration to address issues from the Social Climate Survey and working with student groups and administration to continue efforts towards improved campus accessibility. Another key aspect of the position is to develop training for CUSG members and legislators to instill and institutionalize the values and tenets of social justice, queer liberation, inclusivity, and antiracism within CUSG proper.
Qualifications for this position include but are not limited to: a passion and desire to serve fellow students, exceptional interpersonal skills such as communication, teamwork and leadership, strong organizational skills and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
In addition, it is expected that the Director of Diversity and Inclusion maintains a commitment to antiracism, queer inclusivity, and economic justice. This position is dedicated to advocacy for historically underrepresented students. Comprehensive understanding of the University鈥檚 diverse communities, programs and centers is also essential to performance in this role.
The CU Student Government (CUSG) is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable student to serve as an Associate Justice within the Judicial Branch on the CUSG Court. This position requires a deep understanding of CUSG's governing documents, including the Constitution, Bylaws, and governing documents. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for law, governance, and upholding the principles of justice within the student body.
