Nathan Seidle (ElEngr) received the Kalpana Chawla Outstanding Recent Graduate Award at the CU 麻豆影院 Alumni Association鈥檚 87th Annual Awards Ceremony. In 2003, Nathan opened a one-man business reselling circuit boards from Europe. His 麻豆影院-based firm SparkFun now employs more than 100 people. He lives in 麻豆影院.

Last summer 闯别蹿蹿谤别测听罢辞尘濒颈苍蝉辞苍 (PolSci) was聽a featured performer at聽OUTspoken!, Chicago鈥檚聽monthly LGBTQ storytelling event. He is the dean聽of instruction at Noble鈥檚聽Rowe-Clark Math and聽Science Academy in聽Chicago. He specializes聽in coaching, developing and supporting 16聽English Language Arts聽and humanities teachers. Jeffrey鈥檚 teaching聽career has brought him聽to Washington, D.C.,聽Denver, the Dominican聽Republic and Dallas.

Lindsey Wilson (Thtr) accepted the position of Dallas city editor at CultureMap, a digital magazine. She previously worked as the Texas regional editor for Where Traveler and as theater critic at D Magazine.

From his college apartment, Nathan Seidle (ElEngr) built and sold his first circuit boards. Twelve years later his company, SparkFun, sells 100,000 circuit boards a month, offers 2,000 different products and has annual revenues of nearly $33 million. This summer SparkFun opened its first offline store in Niwot, Colo., catering to small-scale buyers interested in kits and parts.

A reporter for ABC7 News, Mike Carter-Conneen (Jour, PolSci) won his first Emmy award a day after reporting on the Obergefell v. Hodges same-sex marriage ruling. A week later, he married his husband, Torey Carter-Conneen, surrounded by friends and family in Washington, D.C.

Rhodes College professor聽Chris Seaton聽(PhDMath) was awarded Rhodes College鈥檚 highest faculty honor for outstanding teaching and research. Chris is an associate professor in the college鈥檚 math and computer science department. He studies orbifolds that are formed when a surface gets folded on itself, particularly those with seven-dimensional surfaces in 10-dimensional space. Chris has had 20 manuscripts published or accepted since 2007 and has presented his work internationally.

Early this year Denver resident聽Nate Ragolia聽(Engl) published his first novella,聽There You Feel Free, which details the day-to-day lives of five Millennials. Nate heavily draws on T.S. Eliot鈥檚 poem 鈥淭he Wasteland鈥� for the book. It is available at blackhillpress.com.

笔谤辞诲耻肠别谤听Heather Richardson聽(Soc) joined the Chicago-based editorial firm Cutters in January. For nine years, she worked for Cosmo Street Editorial in New York as a producer of high-profile commercials for clients that included ESPN, Verizon and Geico.

Houston native聽Kelly Hunsicker聽(Fin) left the Rocky Mountains in 2005 to return home for a position with Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Today, she is assistant vice president in the oil and gas group.

Former student government tri-executive聽Richard M. Murray聽(Phil, PolSci; Law鈥�07) was named by ColoradoBiz magazine as one of the 鈥淭op 25 Most Influential Young Professionals in Colorado.鈥� He was featured in Law Week Colorado and in Colorado Super Lawyers. He works in Denver for the firm Polsinelli, representing individuals and companies in business litigation. In July, he will serve as the first vice president of the Denver Bar Association. He and wife聽Elizabeth Murray聽(Psych鈥�07) have a young son and newborn daughter.

An estimated seven million pieces of data are generated per second in the United States. At Virginia Tech University,Chao Wang聽(PhDElEngr) and a colleague are trying to develop new resource management tools for big data processing. They have a $750,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. Chao is an assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering.

Mark Stockwell聽(Econ鈥�04, Law鈥�12) was appointed to the board of Denver鈥檚 Youth Opportunity Foundation to help raise awareness about the organization and provide strategic direction. The organization aims to raise funds to help provide mentoring, educational opportunities and life experiences to at-risk youth. Mark is an associate in Denver with the law firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck.

Working as the 鈥渂ox girl鈥� for the Standard Hotel on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood required聽Lilibet Snellings聽(Jour鈥�04) to sit in a giant glass box behind the hotel鈥檚 concierge desk for up to seven hours at a time. She wrote a book about her experience,聽Box Girl: My Part-Time Job as an Art Installation. The book has been featured in the Los Angeles Times and LA Weekly, and made Harper鈥檚 Bazaar鈥檚 鈥淗ot List.鈥� While at CU-麻豆影院, Lilibet ran cross-country under coach Mark Wetmore.

尝补飞测别谤听Jonathan Lucero聽(Fin鈥�04, Law鈥�07) was elected to serve on the board of directors of the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association. He works for a criminal defense and immigration law practice, Hernandez & Associates, in Denver. Jonathan resides in Westminster, Colo.

Alec Schiffer聽(Mktg鈥�04) was appointed managing director for the western division of Trammell Crow Residential, a company specializing in the development of multifamily rental and condominium communities nationwide. He is responsible for land acquisition and all phases of multifamily real estate development. He previously served as vice president of acquisitions at Strata Equity Group in San Diego.

While sad to leave 麻豆影院,聽Elliott Hood聽(Comm鈥�04) and his wife聽Caroline Smith Hult聽(Hum鈥�04) moved in March to Oklahoma City where Elliott got a job as federal clerk on the 10th circuit court of appeals. Caroline works for Teach For America and is featured聽in this issue.

At Lockheed Martin,聽Davin Anderson聽(MechEngr, MS鈥�04) works as electrical test conductor for MAVEN, the $671-million mission to Mars that launched last November. He does planning, implementing, testing and documenting of the MAVEN subsystems and systems. He also solves hardware and software interface problems, defines input and output parameters and ensures integration of the entire MAVEN spacecraft. He lives in Colorado Springs and serves on the CU-麻豆影院 Engineering Grads of the Last Decade (GOLD) board.

In Orange County聽Nicholas Kiefer聽(Mgmt鈥�04) works as director of business development for the sustainability consulting firm Healthy Buildings. The company focuses on sustainability and LEED certification for commercial real estate and corporations. While at CU-麻豆影院 Nicholas studied abroad with Semester At Sea and now works on projects internationally in South America, Africa, Europe and Asia. He is involved in the professional mentorship program at the Leeds School of Business. Nicholas lives in Laguna Woods, Calif.

笔丑辞迟辞驳谤补辫丑别谤听Brian Peterson聽(EnvSt, Geol鈥�04) co-created Photohoku to help disaster-plagued families restart their photo albums that were lost in the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in March 2011. A Tokyo resident of 10 years, he and teams of professional photographers visited families who lost their photos in the tsunami-ravaged regions and helped them start new albums by making family portraits on instant film. After the tornadoes hit Oklahoma last spring, Brian started Photoklahoma. Brian lives in Tokyo with his wife and family.

Last summer聽Kevin Reilly聽(MBA鈥�04) launched a destination weight-loss organization in Denver called KoruCenter, which focuses on the holistic approach to an individual鈥檚 weight-loss journey. KoruCenter offers an all-inclusive and immersive environment to help clients achieve their fitness goals with nutrition, behavior management, clinical diagnostics and training. Learn more at .
