Resources for Humanities & Arts Graduate Students

Arts and humanities give meaning.

In January 2024, the CHA hosted a Graduate Salon where graduate students, faculty, and administrators gathered to discuss the pressing challenges faced by graduate students. These conversations revealed an institutional blind spot: a general assumption that graduate students inherently know how to navigate and utilize the university’s resources, often scattered across various web pages. The discussions emphasized a clear truth: we do not.Ìý

The CHA has compiled resources, programs, and institutional support to help CU graduate students in the arts and humanities find assistance more efficiently. Our new resource page is divided into four sections—financial, personal, professional, and leisure—to provide a wide range of support to enhance graduate students’ research, careers, and overall well-being.Ìý

We hope these resources will make a meaningful difference for you!

Fall 2024 Graduate Student Survey Results: Career Prospects and Support in the Arts and Humanities

In an effort to better understand the challenges and needs of graduate students in the arts and humanities, the Center for Humanities & the Arts (CHA) conducted an anonymous survey in Fall 2024. This survey gathered insights into students' perspectives on career prospects, as well as suggestions for improving support from the CHA and other university resources. The results of this survey will help inform ongoing efforts to enhance graduate student support, particularly in the areas of grants, fellowships, and professional development.

We invite you to explore the survey findings to see what graduate students have shared about their experiences and suggestions. These insights will be invaluable as we continue to refine our resource page and other initiatives designed to support graduate students in meaningful ways.
