Leeds adapts and innovates in unprecedented times.

The outbreak of the novel coronavirus in 2020 created an unprecedented challenge for higher education around the globe: transforming and reimagining the delivery of an educational experience practically overnight.

Leeds read the signs early on and took action quickly to transition students, faculty and staff to remote learning environments. Faculty helped one another shift to remote teaching, continuing their commitment to high-quality, consistent instruction with high levels of student engagement. Leeds Technology Services worked around the clock to ensure everyone had the connectivity and technology they needed to succeed. The staff doubled down in their efforts to support students and the greater Leeds community, from creating new programs to help graduating and current students find work in a tumultuous job market, to organizing a series of insightful COVID-19-related webinars featuring Leeds and CU Â鶹ӰԺ faculty and alumni. At the helm, Leeds Dean Sharon Matusik provided regular updates with timely, relevant information and consistently communicated that we were, indeed, in this together.

In this special section, we highlight how the Leeds community collaborated in innovative ways to respond to and overcome the challenges posed by the pandemic.
