Two brand-new programs offer Leeds graduates a lifeline in their job search.

Not in their wildest dreams did the class of 2020 ever imagine they’d be graduating in the midst of a pandemic. Standing at the outset of their professional career, they face a turbulent economy and job market. Ìý

The economic disruption of COVID-19 presents a tremendous challenge for those seeking job opportunities.

In response, the Office of Career Strategy at Leeds School of Business has just launched two innovative programs to provide immediate, direct support to each and every job-seeking undergraduate and graduate student.

Micro-Internships

Many summer internship programs have been cancelled. But students can now secure short-term, paid, professional projects with our alumni and business community to build their skills and network while seeking a full-time job. Micro-internships are available in a broad range of industries year-round and typically range from five to 40 hours of work.

Hosting companies, in turn, receive immediate help on pressing projects and tasks. They also gain access to diverse talent with 21st century skills and potential efficiencies in their hiring process.

Adopt a Business Buff

It’s an opportunity for students to receive direct, proactive job-search support from a professional in their career area. This personalized program matches job-seeking seniors, MS and second-year MBA candidates with alumni and community professionals who can introduce them to the right people and help them land a job.

For alumni and community volunteers, it’s a short-term commitment to make a lasting difference in a graduating student’s life.
