Biography
Jaime F. Zender is a Professor of Finance and the Baughn Professor of Finance at the Leeds School of Business, Â鶹ӰԺ.
Professor Zender received his undergraduate degree in Economics and Mathematics at the Â鶹ӰԺ, then his M.A., M.Phil., and PhDÌýin Financial Economics at Yale University. He joined the Finance Division at Leeds in 2001, following appointments at the University of Arizona (1999-2001), University of Utah (1988-1999), and Visiting Faculty appointments at the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University (1998-99), and the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis (1991-92). Professor Zender was a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan and Carnegie Mellon University. He served as the Leeds Finance Division Chair from 2011 – 2017.
Professor Zender’s research focuses on Corporate Finance, Security Design, Executive Compensation, Divisible Good Auctions, and the impact of Ambiguity Averse Preferences on Financial Decision-Making. His research has been published in many leading journals includingÌýJournal of Finance,ÌýJournal of Political Economy,ÌýReview of Financial Studies,ÌýEconomic Theory, Economics Letters,ÌýJournal of Financial Intermediation, Management Science,ÌýJournal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis,ÌýEuropean Economic Review, and others.
Professor Zender has taught in the Undergraduate, Masters, MBA, and PhDÌýprograms at the Leeds school. He currently teaches the core finance course in the Masters and the MBA programs.
