Darrell has over twentyÌýyears of experience in various positions within the financial markets field and higher education. Prior to joining Leeds as Senior Director – Special Programs & STEM Initiatives, Darrell worked for the University of Chicago as Director of the pre-professional undergraduate business program (500+ students). In this position, Darrell was responsible for curriculum development, systematic program growth, advising and mentoring students, establishing relationships with employer partners, fundraising, student recruitment, and managing a team of industry-expert advisers. He launched a global trek program to enhance cultural awareness and to learn about business hubs abroad (Singapore, Hong Kong, Sao Paulo, Santiago, London), spearheaded efforts to create a large-scale algorithmic trading competition that drew participants from top institutions across the country, had 100% placement success (full-time & internships) for students he advised, and also created a highly selective subset program focused on quantitative finance. Prior to working at the University of Chicago, Darrell worked for Towers Watson as an Investment Consultant, providing advice to large corporate pension plan clients on topics including asset allocation strategy, liability modeling, investment policy development, and investment manager searches. Before Towers Watson, Darrell worked for Scottrade Financial Services in both their headquarters and branch system. As a Stockbroker and a Branch Manager he was responsible for resolving trade disputes, educating clients on investments, and overseeing the overall performance of the branch office. At each of these prior positions, Darrell established an internship program and was responsible for mentoring students throughout their internship experiences. He has earned his FINRA Series 24, 7, and 63, and has attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis. In his free time, Darrell enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and daughter, snorkeling, and hockey.
