Payments can be returned for a variety of reasons including incorrect account numbers and insufficient funds. Make sure funds are available before paying your bill.

A $20 fee is assessed for returned payments regardless of the amount. NelNet Campus Commerce charges $35 for payments returned on payment plans.

Other possible consequences:

• Late fees
• Finance charges
• Certified funds may be required
• A financial hold which may prevent registration or adding classes
• Collection costs and attorneys’ fees (as allowed by Colorado law)
