Since 1986, Biochemistry at the 麻豆影院 has offered a world-class interdisciplinary research, education, and training environment in a beautiful mountain setting. Currently, the Biochemistry Department has over 140 researchers, including 21 tenure-track faculty, 1 research faculty, 2 teaching professors, ~75 Ph.D. students, ~42 postdocs and scientists, ~29 technical staff, and 7 administrative staff. There are ~400 undergraduate Biochemistry majors, many who perform undergraduate research.
The Biochemistry Department is renowned for its research. The faculty include a Nobel Laureate, 5 members of the National Academy of Sciences, 3 Howard Hughes Investigators, and many other esteemed scientists who have established themselves as research leaders. In 2022, the Biochemistry Department had external awards of $39,797,430 and during from 2010-2016 the department published over 800 articles in scholarly journals. Overwhelmingly, these papers include graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and undergraduates as coauthors.
Students at CU 麻豆影院 can major in Biochemistry and earn a B.A. degree. An honors program is also available to these students.
Graduate students admitted to the CU 麻豆影院 Biochemistry Graduate Program can earn a Ph.D. degree.
