Alejandra Saldivar (she/her) is Mexican experimental animator whose work explores how our perception influences our experience with the environment and interpersonal relationships. Her first narrative short film, Treadmill (2020), is part of the official selection of national and international film festivals such as Chaniartoons (Greece), MikroFAF - International festival of DIY and independent short film (Serbia), Author’s International Film Festival (Mexico), ESMoA Video Art + Film Festival (U.S.A.), and Hidalgo Film Fest (Mexico). Her recent collage piece The Greater the Darkness The More We See (2020) has screened at Festival Internacional de Cine con Medios Alternativos (Mexico), DulcÃsimo Ovario (Mexico), MikroFAF (Serbia), NoCA - The Nomadic Contemporary Cinema (New York), and Muestra de Cine Coahuila (México).Ìý
Alejandra holds a bachelor’s degree in Animation and Digital Art from Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. In 2021 she was awarded by the U.S. – México Commission for Education and Cultural Exchange (COMEXUS) a Fulbright-GarcÃa Robles grant to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Film at the University of Colorado, Â鶹ӰԺ.
