Work/Life Balance
With so many outdoor activities available to CU students, it's a wonder they stay in their offices! The Rocky Mountains lie right next door to the CU-Â鶹ӰԺ campus, affording superb skiing, hiking, camping, and rock climbing. Â鶹ӰԺ itself is surrounded by open spaces and the Mountain Parks, which are always available for a short hike while pondering the universe.
Â鶹ӰԺ is home to world-famous athletes from runners to bikers to skiers, The city has a reputation for being one of the sunniest spots in the country, with a temperate climate throughout its seasonal changes. The closest ski area is approximately a half hour from town, and the famous ones are only 2-3 hours. For those who don't ski, there is ample opportunity for biking, climbing, hiking, and fishing all very near town.
Â鶹ӰԺ is quite active for a town of 100,000 people, with a very high concentration of high-tech industries that harbor an educated and cultured population. It is widely regarded as an excellent place to be a student, and there is no lack of cultural activities. A small selection:
In addition to the University and its attendant student areas, all near campus, there is the downtown Pearl Street mall, lined with shops and peppered with street performers. The compact area of the city makes it easy to get around, and the reliable  is free for students. And let us not forget the essentials, the many fine Ìý²¹²Ô»åÌý.
The Denver metro area is literally a sports-fan's paradise. Denver is home to professional teams of every major sport: (American football), Ìý(³ó´Ç³¦°ì±ð²â),ÌýÌý(²ú²¹²õ°ì±ð³Ù²ú²¹±ô±ô),ÌýÌý(²ú²¹²õ±ð²ú²¹±ô±ô), (indoor lacrosse), (outdoor lacrosse), (rugby), and Ìý(²õ´Ç³¦³¦±ð°ù/´Ú´Ç´Ç³Ù²ú²¹±ô±ô/´Ú³Ü³Ù²ú´Ç±ô).
