Dr. Higashida is the author of Black Internationalist Feminism: Women Writers of the Black Left, 1945-1995 (Illinois, 2012), and co-editor of Sexing the Left: Rethinking Radical Queer Culture, Politics, and Literature, with Aaron Lecklider and Gary Holcolmb. Her research interests include African American and Asian American literatures, American studies, sound studies, and Marxism.
