Colorado has one of the most vibrant startup ecosystems anywhere, but it hasn鈥檛 always been this way. This is no time for Colorado to rest on its laurels either, as the national and global startup environment is rapidly changing. Early stage startup ecosystems need to build the basics, such as access to capital, syndication networks, great universities, top quality talent, mentor pools, federal labs, active economic development groups that don鈥檛 just focus on real estate, and up-to-date thought leadership (and unicorns and an exit or two from the community doesn鈥檛 hurt much either).
