Josh is one of聽Venture聽Partner鈥檚 four full-time licensing managers at CU 麻豆影院. He manages a large part of聽the聽engineering and physics departments, specializing in quantum, photonics聽and phononics technologies.
Licensing Managers wear many hats at CU. Josh is their first contact when a faculty member or PhD student creates an invention. He analyses聽the聽technology聽for聽patentability, commercial viability聽and startup potential. If聽the聽technology is deemed valuable, Josh聽then shepherds聽the聽technology through all stages of its business development. Be it customer discovery, gap funding聽and business accelerator programming if聽there is a startup involved, or marketing efforts, industry relationship building聽and license drafting if not.
Josh has spent his entire career commercializing university technologies. He began his career as an intern at聽the聽CU 麻豆影院 Technology Transfer Office (now聽Venture聽Partners) while obtaining his law degree. Following graduation, Josh spent time at Colorado State University and聽the聽University of Utah before returning home to CU in 2019.
Josh is an avid hiker, soccer player, musician聽and entrepreneur playing drums and percussion in local bands and running a small music recording studio, 鈥淛osh Box Studio.鈥澛燞e strives to live his life to聽the聽five values of honesty, humility, compassion, courage聽and discipline.
