Job Summary

The Office of Undergraduate Education seeks a part-time undergraduate student employee to support the Transfer Initiatives Team. The ideal candidate will be able to work 10-15 hours per week, including winter and part of the summer breaks. Preference will be given to students with a work study award.

The candidate should have professional written, verbal聽and public speaking skills, keen attention to detail, organizational and problem solving proficiency聽and ideally have an understanding of the transfer student experience. Duties for the position: correspondence with students; preliminary advising via virtual drop-ins, participation in on-campus and virtual events聽and administrative assistance.

Responsibilities

Student Guidance

  • Offer Pre-Transfer Advising Drop-ins for prospective and newly admitted transfer students to assist in answering preliminary questions including but not limited to the following topics: Transferology (transfer credit database), referrals to Transfer Admissions and Pre-Transfer Advising, next steps as a new Transfer Buff, the CU 麻豆影院 transfer student experience, etc.
  • Respond to Pre-Transfer advising emails in a timely manner.
  • Serve on Transfer Student Panels in FYXP 3000: Transfer Success Seminar, Transfer Admissions Events, etc., as schedule allows.
  • Participate in Transfer Admissions and Transfer Initiative team events on campus, virtually聽and at local Colorado community colleges, as schedule allows.

Administrative Support

  • Utilize Slate, Buff Portal Advising聽and Campus Solutions to review student records and maintain accurate notes of all student interactions.
  • Support the Intra-University Transfer (IUT) process. Possible responsibilities include reviewing IUT applications and student records to ensure accuracy, testing applications/notifications, application status clean-up, etc.
  • Engage in miscellaneous projects and administrative tasks.
  • Attend required trainings (paid) and regularly scheduled 1:1 meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Be a currently enrolled undergraduate student
  • Be in good standing with the university
  • Adhere to FERPA regulations which include confidentiality of student information

Terms and Benefits

  • Weekly commitment of regularly scheduled shifts totaling 10-15 hours. Typical work hours fall Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Hybrid schedule option available (remote and聽in person in Transfer Initiatives team offices in CASE building).
  • The Transfer Initiatives Peer will report to the Director of Transfer Success Initiatives.
  • Benefits: As a student hourly employee, you are eligible for jury duty pay, sick leave and maybe subject to enrollment in the Student Employment Retirement Plan (SERP); Optional Savings Plans 403B, 457, 401k. Sick leave accrues at a rate of 0.034 hours per every 1 hour worked. You are not eligible for fringe benefits such as vacation, unemployment, paid holiday leave and/or tuition remission. .
  • Compensation: Student employees will be classified as Student-Hourly and earn a wage of $16.00 per hour. Both work-study and non-work-study positions available.聽
