Hispanic Heritage Foundation To Recognize Top Scholars, Rising Hollywood Talent At June 21 Ceremony On CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Campus

Eight of the country's top Latino high school graduates will receive college grants from the Hispanic Heritage Foundation during a prestigious national ceremony on the University of Colorado at Â鶹ӰԺ campus. The foundation, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization, will hold its annual National Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards Ceremony at Folsom Field on Thursday, June 21. In addition to the students, the foundation will honor an outstanding high school educator and two up-and-coming Hollywood stars.

CU-Â鶹ӰԺ To Host June 11 Ceremony In Andrew Macky's Honor

A special delegation of University of Colorado at Â鶹ӰԺ community members will lay a wreath of flowers at the grave of Andrew J. Macky in Columbia Pioneer Cemetery at Ninth and Pleasant streets in Â鶹ӰԺ on Monday, June 11. The group will be led by CU Regent Cindy Carlisle, who represents Colorado's 2nd Congressional District on the nine-member elected board. The group will lay the flowers at Macky's grave at 1 p.m. Members of the media, including photographers, are invited to cover the event.

Black Holes To Be Explored At CU's Fiske Planetarium June 15-16

The mysteries of black holes, including what it would be like to fall into one, will be explored during two June shows at the University of Colorado at Â鶹ӰԺ's Fiske Planetarium. CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Professor Andrew Hamilton will present “Black Holes,” a show intended for a general audience, on June 15 at 8 p.m. On June 16 at 9:30 a.m. he will present the CU Wizards show “Black Holes,” which is geared toward students in grades five through nine. Both shows will be in the planetarium.
