From the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute William F. Brinkman, Director of the Office of Science, U.S. Department of Energy, will make a public address, "Science for Energy," on Tuesday, Nov.1.

The Â鶹ӰԺ Regent Administrative Center will be closed for the remainder of the day on Monday. All walk-up and call-in services for Admissions, the Bursar's Office, and Financial Aid and all other services in the center will be closed for the remainder of the day. Regent is currently scheduled to reopen for business on Tuesday morning under normal operating hours. A surprising new Â鶹ӰԺ study shows that huge amounts of fatty acids circulating in the bloodstreams of feeding pythons promote healthy heart growth, results that may have implications for treating human heart disease.

The Â鶹ӰԺ main campus is operating on a normal schedule. Power has been restored to the East Campus and Grandview area and both areas opened on a delayed start at 9 a.m.

Aerospace engineering students at the Â鶹ӰԺ will host the annual Students for the Exploration and Development of Space conference, SpaceVision 2011, in Â鶹ӰԺ Oct. 27-30.

The Â鶹ӰԺ today announced that it has implemented several new programs over the past three years designed to make computer science more female-friendly, with the larger goal of increasing the number of women employed in technology roles nationwide.

Earlier today, former University of Colorado head football Coach Bill McCartney notified the CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Homecoming committee that he would not be participating as grand marshal in today's Homecoming parade. The coach conveyed that he did not wish to detract in any way from the Homecoming festivities, or distract the football team from its preparations to play the University of Oregon on Saturday.

The Â鶹ӰԺ's 2011 Homecoming launches on Friday, Oct. 21, with the theme "Celebrating CU Through the Decades."

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Â鶹ӰԺ faculty will join with University of Colorado Colorado Springs faculty to teach courses in the design and implementation of electric vehicle drivetrains to new and retraining engineers.

A 21-year-old female student at the Â鶹ӰԺ was diagnosed late on Friday with meningococcal meningitis according to county and university health officials. The student, who is a junior living off campus, is in stable condition at Â鶹ӰԺ Community Hospital.
