The Â鶹ӰԺ Faculty Assembly is proud to announce the recipients of the 2015 BFA Excellence Awards. These awards recognize outstanding contributions by faculty in the areas of teaching, service and leadership, and research and creative work.

RTD recently released its proposed system-wide fare changes and its proposed service plan for its FasTracks Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system planned to open on U.S. Highway 36 in January 2016. CU-Â鶹ӰԺ RTD riders have the opportunity to provide input on the proposed fare changes Monday April 6 at 6 p.m. in the Â鶹ӰԺ City Council Chambers, which is located at 1777 Broadway. Comment can also be submitted by email. Comment deadline is April 8.There is one remaining public meeting on the service plan you can attend, or you may submit written comments by e-mail. Deadline for all comment on the service plan is May 1.

On April 20, the campus will remain open to students, faculty, staff and visitors, as it would normally be. After three years of closing the campus to non-affiliates, the public understands that we are serious about eliminating the type of previous 4/20 gatherings that have disrupted the academic mission of the university.

More than 350 students, faculty and staff joined the 2015 Spring Town Hall on the CU-Â鶹ӰԺ campus today. Whether attending in-person or watching via streamed video, the audience heard directly from the campus’ top leadership, including Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano, Senior Vice Chancellor and CFO Kelly Fox and Provost Russell Moore. Moderators were CUSG executive Juedon Kebede and CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Professor and Director of the Environmental Studies Program Sharon Collinge, who led the panel in a discussion on topics ranging from the campus culture and climate, to student success and future funding of the institution.

Faculty are invited to submit proposals for 2015-2016 outreach and engagement funds to be awarded by the CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Outreach Committee. Proposed outreach projects should extend faculty members’ research, teaching, and creative work. All proposals must be submitted by Monday, April 20.

The confidence of Colorado business leaders remains optimistic, increasing slightly going into the second quarter of 2015, according to the Leeds Business Confidence Index (LBCI) released today by the Â鶹ӰԺ’s Leeds School of Business. For the past eight quarters, confidence has been more stable than ever in the index’s 11-year history.

A new project that officially launches March 31 called Genes for Good gives participants the chance to learn more about their health, behavior and ancestors. In return, those who fully participate provide genetics researchers with valuable data that can be used to better understand the origins of disease, which could lead one day to better treatments, prevention and cures.
