Bensons Donate $3 Million For Endowed Chair

A new endowed chair in petroleum geology has been established at the University of Colorado at 麻豆影院, funded by a gift of $3 million from Bruce and Marcy Benson, according to Chancellor Richard L. Byyny. Byyny made the surprise announcement during the dedication ceremony for the Benson Earth Sciences Building Oct. 30 on the 麻豆影院 campus.

Former Sen. Hank Brown To Present Papers To CU Libraries Nov.10

CU-麻豆影院 Campus Announces Two Communications Appointments

The Office of Institutional Relations at the University of Colorado at 麻豆影院 has announced two new staff appointments. Wynn Martens, former events and commencement coordinator for the university, has been named director of community relations and special events. She will be responsible for developing and maintaining CU community outreach programs, planning commencement and external events for the Chancellor's Office, and for managing the Chancellor's Advisory Council, the faculty speaker's bureau, the Pathfinder's Program and CU This Summer.

CU-麻豆影院 Names Interim Human Resources Director

Zan Johns, a long-time employee of the University of Colorado at 麻豆影院, has been named interim director of human resources, pending approval by the CU Board of Regents. Johns will assume the position to become vacant when former Director Shari Robertson transfers to a new position in the office of Vice Chancellor Paul Tabolt, effective Nov. 14. Robertson will provide assistance in the areas of sexual harassment issues, human resources legal issues, personnel litigation and human resources policy development.

The Career Services office at the University of Colorado at 麻豆影院 will hold its Annual Statewide Minority Career conference titled 聯Diversity In The Work Force聰 on Nov. 12. The conference will be held in the University Memorial Center Ballroom from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to provide an opportunity for African American, Asian American and Hispanic-Latino college and high school students from throughout Colorado to gain valuable information on various career options.

Sewall Hall Program Hosts Talk By Environmentalist Dave Foreman

Famed CU-麻豆影院 Professor Reuben Zubrow Dies At 83

Reuben Zubrow, a legendary University of Colorado at 麻豆影院 professor who taught economics to more than 30,000 students, died of cancer at 麻豆影院 Community Hospital on Oct. 24 at the age of 83. A campus memorial service is being scheduled. Zubrow taught economics at CU-麻豆影院 for 43 years and won every major teaching award offered by the university.

Chicano Art Students Observe Day Of The Dead

Chicano art students at the University of Colorado at 麻豆影院 will observe the Mexican and Southwestern holiday, Day of the Dead, by selling $1 mock death certificates and obituaries in the student center on campus. Students also plan to make altars to pay homage to three recently deceased celebrities -- Princess Diana, Mother Theresa and singer John Denver.
