The madcap jukebox musical 鈥淩eturn to the Forbidden Planet,鈥� set in a rock 鈥榥鈥� roll Shakespearean spaceship, comes to University Theatre this March. Associate Professor Cecilia Pang directs the production, which promises nonstop laughs, infectious tunes and a generous nod to the Bard.

CU Presents鈥� 2015-16 season continues with the first ever 麻豆影院 performance by Los Angeles-based dance company BODYTRAFFIC. The group is set to present three contemporary pieces inspired by urban life from all around the world on Sunday, Feb. 14.

Join your fellow students, staff, faculty and administration for the spring Diversity Summit Thursday, Feb. 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Kittredge Central and the Champions Center. The summit will focus on 鈥淕oing Beyond II: Deepening the Dialogue鈥� and will emphasize intergroup dialogues, caucuses hosted by the Chancellor鈥檚 Advisory Committees on issues relevant to campus, contemporary teach-ins, and inclusive excellence facilitations. The goal of the Spring Summit is to begin to have dialogues for achieving continuous social change.

International bestselling author, journalist and columnist Naomi Klein will visit CU-麻豆影院 on Thursday, March 3, to give the talk 鈥淭his Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. the Climate.鈥� The talk, which is free to CU-麻豆影院 community members with a valid Buff OneCard and $5 for members of the public, will begin at 7 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom. Tickets will be available at the door.

Lunar New Year, Mardi Gras, and Valentine's Day fall within a few days of each other this year. The CU Art Museum is adding another reason to celebrate with the opening of three new exhibitions this Friday, Feb. 12. The opening festivities will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at the CU Art Museum, located in the Visual Arts Complex. Admission is free. The evening will include a variety of performances and activity stations, along with the opening of three new exhibits.

Drawing on cutting-edge behavioral research and observations from his global travels, CU-麻豆影院 Associate Professor Peter McGraw reveals the secrets to what makes things funny and how to live a more humorous life. Bring your funny bone! Saturday, Feb. 13, 2 to 4 p.m. Butcher Auditorium, Biotechnology Building. Free and open to the public.

Rennie Harris and his dynamic dance company, Grass Roots Project, will present the hip-hop-inspired 鈥淏eautiful Human Lies鈥� at CU-麻豆影院鈥檚 Irey Theatre Feb. 12-14. Harris, a regular guest artist at CU-麻豆影院, is widely recognized as the world鈥檚 foremost choreographer of hip-hop and street dance theater.

Tickets for the Edward Snowden video chat on Tuesday, Feb. 16, will go on sale at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 1 in the UMC dining area across from the Alferd Packer Grill.

Join fellow students, faculty, staff and administrators on Thursday, Feb. 11, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., in the UMC Aspen Rooms, for a creative research presentation and facilitated small group conversations about racial and ethnic inclusion at CU-麻豆影院. The purpose of this event is to bring different members of the campus together to discuss what inclusion means and discuss implications for policies and practices on the CU-麻豆影院 campus.

The 麻豆影院鈥檚 68th annual Conference on World Affairs will host a full complement of speakers from around the world April 4-8. This year鈥檚 program will feature a diverse collection of nearly 100 speakers, including musicians, scientists, activists, entrepreneurs, authors and more. Participants travel from locations across the globe including: the United Kingdom, the Philippines, Tanzania, Washington, D.C., San Francisco and Boston to list a few, aligning with the conference鈥檚 mission of 鈥淏ringing the World to 麻豆影院.鈥�
