Chancellor Philip DiStefano and a pair of CU 麻豆影院 sustainability leaders recently participated in University Climate Change Coalition events as CU 麻豆影院 continues to take a leading role among higher education institutions in collaborating on climate solutions.

CU 麻豆影院 students Alexandra 鈥淪asha鈥� Gladkova and Maya Palmer have each been awarded a $15,000 scholarship from the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. The merit-based scholarship is the largest known monetary award of its kind given in the U.S. to science and engineering undergraduate students.

Six faculty members within the College of Engineering and Applied Science received CAREER Awards from the National Science Foundation. The total continues a trend of significant early-career recognition for faculty over the last three years, said Acting Associate Dean for Research Shideh Dashti.

To reflect the university鈥檚 holistic approach to campus needs, CU 麻豆影院鈥檚 Health and Wellness Services unit is moving from Student Affairs to Strategic Resources and Support. Also, the Faculty and Staff Assistance program, currently in Human Resources, will become part of HWS.

With the goal of enhancing operations within core and shared instrumentation facilities on campus, the Core Facility Assistance Grant Program has awarded 10 new awards. Additionally, the Core Facility Voucher Program has doled out awards to assist faculty in gathering new or additional data for grant applications.

Six life science scholars will embark on their PhD studies and contribute their unique cultural experiences to the CU 麻豆影院 campus this fall through a nearly $1.9 million gift to the university from the Shurl and Kay Curci Foundation.

Federal Pell Grants, which have helped generations of low- and moderate-income CU 麻豆影院 students afford higher education, turned 50 years old on June 23. The Pell Grant program helps more than 4,000 CU 麻豆影院 students annually and nearly 7 million recipients nationwide.

A CU 麻豆影院 doctoral candidate in ethnic studies with an emphasis on Native American and Indigenous studies has received the 2022鈥�23 Henry Roe Cloud Dissertation Fellowship at Yale University.

The CU 麻豆影院 Office of Data Analytics has updated the 2021 Campus Culture Survey unit-level dashboard to increase the functionality of the survey results by campus unit.

The Office of Information Technology recently launched a Universal Design for Learning micro-credential that offers an introduction to the principles of UDL鈥攁 framework that can help participants build flexibility into any learning experience to optimize the success of diverse learners.
