In a state of Colorado proclamation, Gov. Jared Polis named Feb. 1 the Center for African and African American Studies Day in honor of CU 麻豆影院's CAAAS, which had its grand opening on Feb. 1.

The intermountain west innovation ecosystem came together at the fifth annual Destination Startup showcase on Feb. 15 and 16, hosted by Venture Partners at CU 麻豆影院. In a highly competitive field, 21 university ventures from intermountain west research institutions were selected to present at the showcase.

At the Colorado Board of Education February meeting, all of the School of Education鈥檚 teacher preparation programs were lauded and received sweeping reauthorization. CU 麻豆影院 was praised for its 鈥渢rue partnerships鈥� with districts and reading instruction, an area where very few other university programs have earned reauthorization on the first pass.

Students donated 1,966 meal swipes as part of the Swipe it Forward event, which encouraged students with meal plans to 鈥減ay it forward鈥� and support their fellow Buffs. The meal swipes will now be available as emergency meal cards to students in need of extra support.

Two professors are being recognized for inventions that could have 鈥渞eal impact on the welfare of society.鈥� Corrella Detweiler and Wei Zhang have been named senior members of the National Academy of Inventors.
