Campus launches new signature authority policy

Campus launches new signature authority policy

CU 麻豆影院 has adopted a new Signature Authority Policy to increase financial resilience through sound fiscal practices across campus. The new policy aligns campus practices with the University of Colorado .

The new policy, which took effect July 1, replaces existing practices reliant on manual tracking of agreements and memos. It also clarifies which positions on campus have delegated authority from the chancellor to enter into certain operational agreements via an updated Signature Authority and Delegation Matrix.

What this means

  • Positions not included in the Signature Authority and Delegation Matrix do not have authority to sign operational agreements on behalf of CU 麻豆影院.
  • University employees who sign operational agreements without the proper authority may be personally liable for the agreement and/or subject to discipline.

Those with delegated authority to sign operational agreements have updated responsibilities associated with their delegate role. To ensure compliance with the new policy, all CU 麻豆影院 staff and faculty should:

  • Reviewthe policy and the matrix before entering into operational agreements. This includes any agreement that could involve CU 麻豆影院 property or which results in revenue or liabilities for CU 麻豆影院.
  • Register to attend a Knowledge-Based Learning Session (KBLS) on the new policy, taking place Tuesday, Sept. 17. Register here:
