Help celebrate Coach Prime’s award Dec. 6

In a season of superlatives, CU ΒιΆΉΣ°ΤΊ will have one more opportunity to celebrate being in the center of the sports world, as Deion β€œCoach Prime” Sanders as been named 2023 Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year in recognition of his tremendous impact on CU ΒιΆΉΣ°ΤΊ, the community and on college athletics in general.

Sanders will accept the award at a free star-studded public event at the CU Events Center on Dec. 6 beginning at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the award, the night will also include the world premiere of β€œCoach Prime” season two, the hit docuseries from Amazon Prime Video. The docuseries, which does not become available to the public until Dec. 7, provides an inside look at the program and showcases CU ΒιΆΉΣ°ΤΊ.

Activities include:  

  • Official presentation of the Sportsperson of Year Award, with the Sports Illustrated magazine cover featuring Coach Prime surrounded by CU students
  • Coach Prime-themed giveaways
  • A chance to win a free pair of Coach Prime Blenders sunglasses 
  • Watch the first two episodes of β€œCoach Prime” on the CU Events Center big screen
