Chief Operating Officer Patrick O鈥橰ourke announced today that he has appointed Amy Hutton to serve as the new associate vice chancellor for enrollment management at CU 麻豆影院, effective Sept. 11, following a national search.听
Hutton joins CU 麻豆影院 from the University of Alabama where she has served as assistant vice president for enrollment management since February 2021. She will report directly to O鈥橰ourke at CU 麻豆影院, overseeing all aspects of enrollment management, including admissions, financial aid, the bursar, and pre-college and outreach programs.
鈥淚 am thrilled for Amy to bring her experience in enrollment management and data analytics to our team,鈥 O鈥橰ourke said. 鈥淭he Division of Enrollment Management is vital to the success of our students at every point in their CU 麻豆影院 journey. Amy鈥檚 unique expertise will be invaluable to CU 麻豆影院 and our students, and she will be a wonderful partner with our colleagues across campus as we develop and implement CU 麻豆影院鈥檚 first strategic enrollment management plan.鈥
At Alabama, Hutton and her team enrolled the largest freshman class in university history multiple years in a row while at the same time increasing the diversity and academic profile. The university also grew transfer and international student enrollment during her tenure.听
Prior to Alabama, Hutton served in a number of roles at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), including director of enrollment research and evaluation and interim head of admissions operations technology. She also served as director of admissions for the VCU music department and as an assistant professor in the School of the Arts.
Hutton鈥檚 past experience also includes working in multiple roles on Broadway. She holds a doctorate of education from VCU with an emphasis in research and evaluation, as well as a master鈥檚 degree in theater pedagogy from VCU. She also holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in musical arts from DePauw University.
鈥淚 am grateful for the opportunity to lead enrollment management at CU 麻豆影院 at such a critical juncture for the university,鈥 Hutton said. 鈥淚 am excited about CU 麻豆影院鈥檚 forthcoming strategic enrollment management plan, and look forward to fostering innovation that fuels student success, increases diversity and supports the university鈥檚 mission of education and research.鈥
Hutton replaces Jennifer McDuffie, who has served as interim associate vice chancellor of enrollment management since December. McDuffie will continue in her duties as associate vice chancellor and chief of staff for Strategic Resources and Support.听
鈥淚 want to thank Jennifer for her leadership and resiliency in serving in dual roles over the past several months, as well as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management Ofelia Morales for her leadership in helping to guide us through a period of transition,鈥 O鈥橰ourke said. 鈥淚 also want to thank our search committee and search committee chairperson Katherine Eggert for their work in identifying a talented and diverse group of candidates, as well as the dozens of faculty and staff who participated in the interviews.鈥
