Provost Russell Moore today announced that the Center for Inclusion and Social听Change (CISC), currently housed in the Office of Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement (ODECE), will move to the Division of Student Affairs beginning Jan. 1, 2023.

鈥淭his move will place the CISC team into closer partnership with the co-curricular听experts and partners in Student Affairs, a move that will magnify the impact of听CISC鈥檚 campuswide efforts,鈥 said Moore.听

Moore said CISC鈥檚 offices鈥擡ducation and Social change; First-Generation听Programs and Enrichment; Intercultural Engagement; and the Pride Office鈥攁long with CISC鈥檚 signature events, will benefit from the ability 鈥渢o co-plan with听Student Affairs experts in similar areas and provide more holistic student support.鈥

鈥淭he CISC team members will continue in their excellent work to provide high-impact, transformational community-building and educational programs to the CU 麻豆影院 community, said Austin 鈥淛.B.鈥 Banks, acting vice chancellor for student affairs. 鈥淭his closer alignment of CISC within Student Affairs will benefit our student body and our efforts at improving the student experience at CU 麻豆影院.鈥

Chris Pacheco, acting vice provost and associate vice chancellor for diversity, equity and inclusion, who听heads ODECE, also stated his support for the move.听

鈥淥DECE is thankful to have had CISC as part of our team during the past several years, and we recognize the value of CISC returning to Student Affairs. ODECE will continue to support our CISC colleagues by providing strategic partnership that benefits our communities and the campus at large.鈥
