Join conversations about climate change, and how to forge a just path forward

CU 麻豆影院 students are invited to join the conversation about climate change, its impacts and how to forge a just path forward.

In partnership with the Right Now Global Climate Summit that CU 麻豆影院 is co-hosting with United Nations Human Rights in early December, CU 麻豆影院 is hosting a range of new, community-focused events. Two of the newly announced Think Globally, Engage Locally Panel Series events were developed with students in mind.

  Sunday, Dec. 4, noon鈥1 p.m.   鈥&苍产蝉辫;Byron White Club Level 鈥 Folsom Stadium
This event will feature panelists from politically diverse and bipartisan-oriented youth climate advocacy groups in a conversation with a CU student audience. The panel will be moderated by Matt Burgess, assistant professor of Environmental Studies. .

Sunday, Dec. 4, noon鈥1 p.m.    Rustandy Business 鈥 Engineering Bridge
Join this interactive and creative workshop for climate action. Together we will explore how to carry forth the wisdom from our ancestors to avoid the 鈥渦nsustainable or scorched path鈥 and chart our own course towards a 鈥済reen path鈥 for an equitable, survivable, and thrive-able future. Participants will receive an official UN CU certificate of participation. .

There are also numerous panels that are part of the international Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Summit.

The panel 鈥淒eveloping Climate Solutions With the Human Rights of Future Generations in Mind: What do youth have to say about that?鈥 will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in the Glenn Miller Ballroom on campus.

鈥淭hese sessions give an even wider audience the ability to engage more deeply and in a localized way with the pressing global discussion around climate change and its impact on human rights,鈥 CU 麻豆影院 Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano said. 鈥淭his is a prime example of thinking globally and acting locally.鈥

Registration for all events is required.
