This week brings a screening of Nope, mini apple pies, Drag Queen Bingo, mushroom cultivation, Bocadillos y Chisme, self-compassion tips, vision boards, a workshop on de-escalating conflict and more.

Monday, Sept. 26

   2–3 p.m.    UMC, North Dining Area
Start the week off right! Join your peers in a weekly event hosted by the Center for Student Involvement. This week, enjoy delicious mini apple pies. 

 

   7–9 p.m.    UMC, The Connection
It’s time for Trivia Night! Put your knowledge to the test with Lord of the Rings trivia. Teams and individuals are welcome. Sign-up starts at 6 p.m. at the front desk. Entry is free and top finishers receive prizes!


Tuesday, Sept. 27

   2–4 p.m.    Rec Center lobby
Self-compassion is about showing ourselves kindness and forgiveness. This is an important part of self-care. This Tuesday, help Health and Wellness Services decorate a banner promoting self-compassion.


Wednesday, Sept. 28

   2–4 p.m.    Wardenburg, third floor, west solarium
Health and Wellness Services is helping you reach your goals! Manifest a positive future by creating your very own vision board.

   3:30–4:30 p.m.    Wardenburg, third floor, west solarium
In this workshop, learn strategies for de-escalating conflict, and learn about university policies related to disruptive behavior and resources available within Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution.

   5–6:30 p.m.    C4C, Abrams Lounge
Attention Latinx community! You are invited to a Bocadillos and Chisme appetizer hour hosted by the Center for Inclusion and Social Change.


Thursday, Sept. 29

   6–8 p.m.    GOLD A120
Grow your own mushrooms! The Environmental Center and Mycology Club are hosting a mushroom workshop. Participants will learn the process of using liquid culture to inoculate a grain bag, and take it home to watch the mushrooms grow. 

   7–9 p.m.    Village Center multipurpose room
It’s Buffalo Nite! Have fun and win cool prizes with Drag Queen Bingo!


Friday, Sept. 30

   5:30–8:30 p.m.    Arrowood Park 
Community members and students that are currently living on or considering a future home in the East Aurora neighborhood are invited to a free block party at Arrowwood Park, sponsored by Student Affairs. This tucked-away event will have free food from local favorites Illegal Pete’s and Sweet Cow, games, crafts and more.

   8 p.m.    CHEM 140
Join Program Council for a screening of the hit horror/sci-fi film Nope, starring Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya and directed by Jordan Peele. The film involves two siblings running a horse ranch and discovering something wonderful and sinister in the skies above.
