Editor鈥檚 note Nov. 2: Due to a positive COVID-19 test within the band, the 2021 Homecoming Concert featuring Peach Tree Rascals will be postponed to a later date.

This week brings the fall Diversity and Inclusion Summit, mindfulness for stress relief, Homecoming kickoff, karaoke night, fall treats at CU on Friday and more.

Monday, Nov. 1

   2鈥3 p.m.    Wardenburg, West Solarium, Room 321
What is currently causing you stress? Take a break to reflect and learn about mindfulness exercises that you can incorporate into your daily routine to keep stress at bay.

Diversity and Inclusion Summit

   9 a.m.鈥7:15 p.m.    Virtual
The theme of this semester鈥檚 Diversity and Inclusion Summit is 鈥淭he Power of Community: C.L.I.M.B. with Purpose.鈥 Join fellow Buffs to explore how self-reflection plays a vital role in cultivating inclusive excellence while tapping into both your head and your heart. Health Huts: Stress Management

   2鈥4 p.m.   Imig Music, student lounge, Room N102
Not all stress is bad stress! Stop by and learn about strategies to reduce stress and improve well-being. You鈥檒l learn about self-care practices in each of the eight dimensions of wellness.

Do you want to find out where your talents plug in? Explore the exciting world of startups and entrepreneurship! Meet with employees at startups and learn how you can get involved in what they are doing. Whether you鈥檙e interested in IT and engineering, content and design, social media and more, there鈥檚 something for everyone. Be sure to to attend this event!


Wednesday, Nov. 3

   9鈥11 a.m.    ATLAS Center, outside Pekoe Coffee Shop
Come get a free coffee if you lug your mug! All you have to do is bring your own mug and you get rewarded with free coffee. The Zero Waste Outreach Team wants to reward you for getting out of the disposable mentality.

   7鈥10 p.m.    UMC, Glenn Miller Ballroom
Due to a positive COVID-19 test within the band, the 2021 Homecoming Concert will be postponed to a later date. Program Council, along with the CUSG Homecoming Coalition, are actively working with the artist and venue to find a suitable new date for the concert, hopefully during the later part of the fall 2021 semester. All tickets purchased for the Nov. 3 date will be honored. When a rescheduled date is announced, tickets will go back on sale, and any ticket holders who can no longer attend can seek a refund. Thursday, Nov. 4

Here鈥檚 your chance to take your best rendition of 鈥淏illie Jean鈥 or 鈥淥ops!... I Did It Again鈥 to the people! Join this event for a night of great music and a fun time with friends.

Are you working on building a skills plan through the Skills for Success program? Come to the weekly drop-in advising and consulting forum to get your questions answered.  


Friday, Nov. 5

   4鈥6 p.m.    UMC, The Connection
Connect with your community at this fun UMC tradition! November鈥檚 theme is 鈥淜eep Calm and Be Grateful.鈥 Come decorate your free eye/sleep mask, grab a gratitude journal and enjoy some caramel apples, pumpkin bread and hot apple cider. Plus, there will be half-price bowling and billiards during the event.
