Take a break from school, learn about works of art and then participate in a related mindfulness practice. The powerful, guided meditation can undo stress, soothe the nervous system and help you feel relaxed and revitalized. Anyone can join in the museum galleries in person or virtually. for virtual attendance.听

This workshop focuses on an excerpt from Padma Lakshmi in our听 book, American Like Me: Reflections on Life Between Cultures by America Ferrera. Our memories of meals shared with family and friends are one avenue to explore both who we are and to learn more about the world around us. Join the conversation as you reflect on favorite recipes and dishes听and how we connect with our greater communities through food. This workshop is for anyone interested in reflecting on and sharing some of our most vivid and fond food memories. You are invited to attend whether or not you鈥檝e read American Like Me.

Spend your Friday afternoon joining in activities like acupuncture, aromatherapy, petting cute puppies and more.

Ask a friend to join you at the Rec Center for a results-driven cycling class. You will be guided through a solid workout that provides immediate fitness data through your power console. New to cycling? Don't sweat it. This class is designed to provide a positive experience for all fitness levels.

Bring your popcorn, get ready for a scare and come watch The Conjuring.听Every Friday, Program Council will have a movie showing so you don鈥檛 have to worry about Friday night plans! Get in the Halloween spirit with this scary movie about two paranormal investigators who work to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in their farmhouse. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.; the film begins at 8 p.m.

Get your costumes out, start the Halloween celebrations and get ready to dance at the Graveyard Groove Silent Disco Party! Bring a friend and come enjoy some food and drinks while you dance the night away.

World Singing Day

听1 p.m.听 麻豆影院 Bandshell,听1212 Canyon Blvd.
Whether you're an experienced singer or a first-timer, learn more and be part of the chorus in this communal singing event at 麻豆影院鈥檚 Central Park Bandshell, sponsored in part by the CU 麻豆影院 College of Music.听No rehearsals or prior experience required.

7鈥10 p.m. UMC,听The Connection
Grab a couple of friends and get ready to have a great night at The Connection! Enjoy the fun of bowling with black lights, colored lane lights and color pins. It鈥檚 the only extreme bowling you鈥檒l find in 麻豆影院. Also open Friday nights.

In support of religious and cultural differences, Inclusive Rec is partnering with the Muslim Student Association to offer a women-only swim. All lifeguards will be female. Be sure to bring your Buff OneCard to enter.
