While unusual, serious crimes do occur from time to time on the CU 麻豆影院 campus. When this happens and there is still a potential threat to the community, we will issue either a Safety Alert or a CU 麻豆影院 Alert. These types of alerts are required for every public college and university under a federal law known as .听

The Clery Act requires that the campus community is notified when any of the following crimes have been committed and the suspect has not been arrested or has not been identified:

  • Criminal homicide (murder and non-negligent manslaughter)
  • Negligent manslaughter
  • Sex offenses including rape, fondling, incest, and statutory rape
  • Robbery
  • Aggravated assault
  • Burglary
  • Motor vehicle theft
  • Domestic violence
  • Dating violence
  • Stalking
  • Arson

Safety alerts are sent by email to all CU 麻豆影院 students, faculty and staff through their colorado.edu email accounts. They are also shared on the CU 麻豆影院 Police Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. All of the safety alerts are archived on the CUPD media page.

When there is an immediate threat to the health and safety of the campus community, all students, faculty and staff receive a CU 麻豆影院 Alert. This will come as a text message to one鈥檚 listed mobile phone numbers and an email to colorado.edu email accounts. They are also be shared on the CU 麻豆影院 Facebook and Twitter pages.
