Effective immediately, and as part of campus planning for the public health concern involving coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), I have directed the providers of student health services on campus to cease the practice of providing appointment verifications, also known as 鈥渄octor鈥檚 notes,鈥 to students.听
This directive applies to Wardenburg Health Center, Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS), and Student Support and Case Management (SSCM). While we do not have any confirmed cases of COVID-19 on campus or in 麻豆影院 County at this time (though there are cases in Colorado), we want to ensure that our campus听resources are not strained by requests for doctor鈥檚 notes.听
Additionally, I听am asking all of the deans of our schools and colleges to no longer require appointment verifications from students who miss class due to illness, as students will no longer be able to get appointment verification notes from campus health services.
