CU 麻豆影院 will test the CU 麻豆影院 Alerts system at 11:55 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16. The test will include text messages, emails, social media and website announcements. Annual testing of emergency notification systems is required by the Clery Act, a federal law.
鈥淚f there is a campus emergency, we want to alert our community as quickly as possible,鈥 said Garry DeJong, CU 麻豆影院鈥檚 director of emergency management. 鈥淏y testing the system each semester, we are able to ensure there aren鈥檛 technical issues during that emergency.鈥
Active CU 麻豆影院 student email addresses (@colorado.edu) are automatically registered to receive emails through the CU 麻豆影院 Alerts system, and the university encourages students to add mobile phone numbers in order to receive text notifications as well.
Faculty and staff with a听@colorado.edu听email address are also added automatically. Employees who have phone numbers listed in the 鈥淐ellular鈥 and 鈥淐ellular 2鈥 fields in your my.cu.edu (MyCUInfo) account will receive text notifications as well. Learn more听about this process.
