Do you have a favorite CU 麻豆影院 faculty member? Is there a staff member who has gone above and beyond to help you succeed? Nominate that person to be honored with a Marinus Smith Award.
The Marinus Smith Awards let students show appreciation for the faculty and staff who have positively influenced their experience at CU 麻豆影院. Here are just a couple of words from the nominations of past听award recipients:
The Marinus Smith Award is named after one of 麻豆影院鈥檚 pioneer settlers. He not only led the way with a $1,000 donation toward the creation of the university in 麻豆影院听but also听donated 25 acres for the university, including听Norlin Quadrangle.
Although I have only been at student at CU for about a year and a half, the impact that Dr. Nancy Guild has had on me and my education is immeasurable. Dr. Guild is, without a doubt, one of the most knowledgeable, involved听and dedicated teachers I have had in my entire life.鈥 鈥揔yla, CU student
I've been meaning to nominate Everett听[Piper]听for years now but haven't. Years later鈥擨 still see him going well above and beyond expectations to help students. Everett听is probably the best math instructor in the entire state of Colorado, by far the best at CU. He regularly is finding new ways to engage his students, on top of making himself available to his students on evenings and weekends鈥攈e really does what is needed to get his students, and other students, to learn. He is that passionate about getting students interested in mathematics.鈥 鈥揙livia, CU student
Faculty and staff are instrumental in shaping the lives of听students and graduate students, and each year we honor those who have made a positive impact with the Marinus Smith Awards. Award recipients will be recognized at a special ceremony on April 18. Nominators are also encouraged to attend.
Nominate a professor, mentor or supporter for the Marinus Smith Award by Friday, March 15.
