Tom Cech leads RNA splicing dance
As part of BioFrontiers Institute Professor John Rinn’s biochemistry class, this week graduate students performed an RNA splicing interpretive dance on the west lawn of the Jennie Smoly Caruthers Biotech Building. CU Nobel Laureate and BioFrontiers Director Tom Cech (in the tie-dye T-shirt) played the starring role of the catalytic G, since he discovered and won the Nobel Prize for it. The balloons represent different parts of genes—purple are exons and green are introns.
Hasan Minhaj visit
The comedian, actor, writer and The Daily Show senior correspondent spoke at Macky Auditorium this week, hosted by the student-run Cultural Events Board.
A celebration of CU Â鶹ӰԺ’s favorite poems
Celebrating poetry's role in our lives, the University Libraries hosted a reading of CU Â鶹ӰԺ's favorite poems. In its months-long submission period, more than 100 entries of favorite poems were received, and 15 were selected to be read at this event.

Representing Leeds School of Business’ varoius centers, students presented their projects to business leaders, faculty and Leeds board members.
Special Collections on Japanese literature, culture
This week, Professor Janice Brown’s class Environment, Nature and Disaster in Japanese Literature and Culture visited the Special Collections at Norlin Library. The librarian in most of the photos is Japanese and Korean Studies Librarian and Assistant Professor Adam H. Lisbon.
