The Ìýis inviting applications for next year’sÌýcohort!Ìý

NUFP, offered by the Student Affairs in Higher Education’s professional associationÌýNASPA (National Association of Student Personnel Administrators),Ìýaims to increase the number of historically disenfranchised and underrepresented professionals in student affairs and/or higher education, including but not limited to those of racial and ethnic minority background, those having a disability and those identifying as LGBTQ.

Student referrals are due by April 15 to nufp@colorado.edu, andÌý are due May 1.

NUFP was started by NASPA in 1989 and has grown nationwide to dozens of university campuses since then. Several current CU Â鶹ӰԺ Student Affairs employees are NUFP alumni.

Requirements for being a NUFP fellow

  • Identify as a member of a traditionally underrepresented or historically disenfranchised student population, including, but not limited to: black/African American, Asian, Hispanic/Latino(a), indigenous (Native American, Alaskan, Hawaiian), multiethnic, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, or as having a disability.
  • Have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application. Applicants with at least a 2.7 cumulative GPA will receive preference in the review process.
  • Undergraduate students need to be carrying full-time enrollment (as defined by their institution).
  • There is no direct required cost to the student or the institution in order to participate in NUFP.

Time commitment

  • Meet with assigned mentor at least once a month. Mentor/fellow partners jointly determine the content and structure of these monthly meetings.
  • Attend monthly NUFP workshops with cohort.
  • Attend networking events set up by mentor or the NUFP Advisory Team.
